Howie Martinez is a member of UKCP, working towards full accreditation, after training for 4 years at the Manchester Institute of Psychotherapy.
Howie is delighted to join MITC as an emerging professional, having recently set up his private practice in Manchester. He works online, and see clients in person in South Manchester (Didsbury and Chorlton).
Upon leaving the music industry, Howie originally re-trained as a Primary School teacher – an advantage, when we recognise and account for our own inner child. Whilst the industry can be an incredible playground for our inner children, he witnessed how our sense of self can be triggered by the pressures, stresses and anxieties of working in this business. There are incredible highs and brutal lows, and they can take their toll.
Before starting his journey to become a Psychotherapist, Howie worked for over 25 years across the industry working with the biggest selling artists of the 1990/2000s: from Journalism and PR, to Marketing and Event Promotion, finally combining all his experiences as an Artist and Producer Manager. He used to play Double Bass, and is an occasional DJ.
