Gaia Polloni
Clinical Psychologist and Psychotherapist (MSc, CPsychol, DClinPsy)
About me
I’m a Chartered Clinical Psychologist, Psychotherapist and Clinical Sexologist. My therapeutic approach is flexible, integrated and always tailored to fit the person I work with. With over 25 years of training and almost 20 years of clinical experience, in my practice, I combine Cognitive-Constructivist Therapy, CBT, EMDR, Systemic Therapy, Sex Therapy, Mindfulness, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, EFT (Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy) and the Gottman Method. Being an EMDR Therapist and Supervisor, I work with traumas on a daily basis. I also work with the LGBT+ community and with individuals with gender incongruence.
Today I am a lecturer, trainer and Supervisor in several Post graduate training schools in Psychotherapy and in Sexology in Italy and I am a member of the Scientific Committees of different Italian and International Scientific Societies, such as the European Society for Sexual Medicine. I am a very active speaker at conferences and author of several articles and chapters in psychology and medical books.
Having lived and studied in London for several years and in the U.S., nowadays, I practice in Como and Milan, Italy, but I mainly work online, offering psychotherapy both in English and in Italian to people living everywhere in the world. On request, I also offer on tour therapy.
My background
For personal reasons, I’ve toured for about 15 years of my life with international bands such as Muse and Depeche Mode. This has given me the opportunity to experience from the inside the common struggles that musicians and people who work in the music industry can go through, both when they are on and off tour. On so many levels, music has always been an incredibly important part of my life. As a therapist, I’ve worked and currently work with very well-known Italian musicians, artists and band managers. On a daily basis, I deal with issues such as performance anxiety, drug & alcohol abuse, sex addiction, sexual dysfunctions, depression, relationship problems and other personal issues common in people experiencing the highs and lows of their musical careers.
Working with me
I provide my clients with a safe, warm and non-judgemental space where they can open up freely and receive guidance and support. My approach is always tailored to suit the complexity and uniqueness of each person. Artists and people who work in the music industry will feel understood both on a personal and professional level.
