Psychologist (DESS, MBPsS, ADELI) she/her
About me
I define my work as Integrative Counselling Psychology because it integrates all kind of different practices to better adapt to the person in front of me. My holistic approach is humanist, existentialist and cross-cultural, using a lot of psychoeducation and mindfulness. With experience in psychodynamic, cognitive therapies and PTSD (among ever ongoing trainings), compassion and acceptation are at the heart of my practice. Breathwork, body work (ie. stretching or checking where the tension sits) and creativity/artwork are also major tools. Following my great experience at ESNS 2024 festival, I want to do more Therapeutic Coaching. I am developing a therapeutic tool called ‘Sing Your Pain’ using the voice and improvisation to heal; also interested in narrative therapy especially since I wrote Charlie Bacchus’ biography; and collaborating with other music industry and health professionals notably in France – such as women collectives and musicians organisations – is also very gratifying.
My background
I graduated in France as a clinical psychologist with an MA in psychopathology in the early 80s. Too young to become a therapist, I followed my guts to support emerging world and urban music artists and embarked on a 30-year career in the music industry. After various roles in major record companies and setting up an independent management/PR/live music production company, I co-created the French Music Export office, a joint venture between the French government and the industry and then set up its London office. Then I have been running music industry training programs in Africa and travelled around the world as an activist using global hip hop to promote social consciousness (incl. invitations by the UN and US universities). I also have experience in artist coaching, international tour production and digital distribution.
Working with me
Working from home brings a cosy atmosphere and some flexibility, warmth and non-judgemental transparency being my main assets. We discuss an adaptable workplan to identify our goals, ie. work on the coping mechanisms built since childhood that are now limiting rather than useful. I believe everyone has an inner power to heal their wounds and develop their strengths. My job is to bring a safe framework, knowledge, experience and active listening skills to help those creative and balancing forces to flourish.
We may start weekly and then switch on a fortnightly basis. After a few months, we may decide to go monthly. I stay available for my clients afterwards if needed.
Writing some notes during and after the session helps me prepare before the next one.
If we feel like it, we can easily stretch, breathe, laugh and even sing together or go for an outdoor session in the park.
