About me
I look at a band like a marriage. To have a healthy & successful relationship, you need your partners to have integrity, be committed, and to feel safe to communicate their honest feelings. We will use the family systems approach, which looks at your role in your family of origin and the unhealthy patterns, attachments and fighting styles that you have learned. Together we will establish new, healthier patterns.
I will teach you tools for communication and healthy conflict resolution that will help you work through your crisis in a safe space. Whether you’re grappling with the pressures of the spotlight, feeling performance anxiety or experiencing depression after a tour, there’s a path to harmony.
I customize therapy and interventions to suit each client’s unique individual or group needs. I integrate several different therapeutic approaches and interventions including CBT, Narrative, EFT, Solution-Focused, Strategic, Gestalt, Career Counseling and Psychoeducation.
My background
As a seasoned music professional with three decades of experience in the music industry, I’ve navigated the complexities of being a recording artist, musician, and performer, while managing my own record label across the US and the UK.
My experience includes touring, from intimate club gigs to major arenas. I’m intimately familiar with the nuances of stage fright, the pressures of relentless touring, the intricate process of releasing records, and the emotional challenges, including anxiety and depression, that often accompany artists after tours conclude. These emotional challenges can take a toll on friendships, romantic relationships and business partners. I have helped clients with adjustment problems and feelings of dissociation.
My journey equips me with a deeper understanding and empathy for the struggles faced by artists, musicians, and bands, regardless of whether they are internationally recognized icons or emerging talents seeking to make their mark in the music world.
Working with me
Clients have shared that they appreciate my direct approach, my empathetic nature and my positivity. I fiercely believe in change and have dedicated my life to helping people meet their goals. My sessions are structured. That means I will help guide you to insight when you are feeling stuck. My approach is collaborative as I believe that you are ultimately the expert in your own life. I assign homework only when it feels helpful to the client. Homework is never supposed to feel like a burden. Some clients only need 10 sessions while others could need a few years. Each case and termination date is evaluated by me and the client on an individual basis. I value Psychoeducation. I want my clients to learn as much as possible about themselves and about Psychology so they can feel confident in the choices they make and the conflicts they resolve.
